Summary:
A coalition between a Kinesiology Department of the College of Education, undergrad sport's students, parent's association, and Elementary school of Abelheira has formed for a project called TocaPÉ (acronym of Toca a Andar a Pé = Let´s Walk to School). In 2008, with the participation of undergraduates from the Sports program, local schools, and parents, different routes were designed and about 60 kids did participate. 2008 also brings a new phase of the project: creating a web site, extending to other local schools, and consolidating the routes and families participation through voluntary parents.
