Thirty-four programs representing schools around
the world participated in the 2005 International Walk to School Award.
This award recognizes the outstanding achievements made to encourage
children to walk to and from school and create healthier, safer and
more sustainable communities. The innovation and achievement of the
programs were impressive and made the judging difficult.
The winner of the 2005 IWALK Award is the "Morton Way Walk and Roll" program
from Morton Way Public School in partnership with Green Communities Canada/Active
and Safe Routes to School, located in Ontario, Canada. For further information,
please see the news release to the right that announces the winner. More information
about the applicant programs and special recognition awards is available below
in the hope that others will be inspired by their great work.
